Our Ayurvedic Spiritual Community

A spiritual community is a group of people who are dedicated to the same or similar spiritual ideals and values. Our small monastic community follows the Ayurvedic and devotional teachings of the Vedas as expressed in Bhagavad-gita, Srimad-Bhagavatam and similar scriptures. We live a simple life in a natural rural setting, rising before dawn, chanting Sanskrit mantras, and regularly performing various Vedic ceremonies and rituals for spiritual consciousness.

These values automatically lead to a healthy and happy life. Therefore our community is built on four regulative principles:

  • Abstaining from eating meat, fish and eggs.
  • Abstaining from illicit sex life.
  • Abstaining from intoxication
  • Abstaining from gambling and speculation.

Along with this, we take bath in cold water for external cleanliness, and for internal cleanliness we chant the Holy Name of the Lord. We offer all our food to the Lord before eating, and we perform all our work and other activities for His satifaction. We hold our money and other property in common, and make decisions by consensus informed by the transcendental knowledge of the scriptures, the practices of the devotional lineage and the direct personal instructions of our spiritual Master Teacher.

We work in service to God and our community by following principles of truthfulness, cleanliness, austerity and mercy, offering the results of our work to the Lord in our temple and through our spiritual Master Teacher, who is an authorized representative of the esoteric Vedic disciplic lineage from Lord Krsna. We contribute to the rural community in which we live by education, appropriate technology exchange and financial investment in local family businesses. Our aim is not to merge with God or become one with Him, but to serve Him in love and surrender, understanding that He can reciprocate our love better than any other living entity.

We invite interested students of spiritual life, Vedic Astrology and Ayurveda to visit our spiritual teaching website EsotericTeaching.org, register and partake of the numerous spiritual resources, informative online courses and community there.
